Pinoy Idol Audition Episode in Mindanao

I just watched the pilot episode, the launch for the First Pinoy Idol. Featured was the audition in SM Cagayan de Oro City and Davao. I don’t know about you but I didn’t find any Pinoy Idol potential Top 24 finalists. Maybe Raymel Jose Fernandez or Darling. You know how it is in American Idol, I got used to seeking a voice that is totally unique. It was quite a disappointing first episode.

How could we? Auditions in TWO cities crammed in an hour’s show? Gee, that’s hardly enough time to show all the successful and non-successful contestants.

The editing was terrible too! Only three successful contestants in Cagayan de Oro were shown; one of which had a long story about how he got there [and his singing wasn’t even that extraordinary!). I also can’t remember seeing in this episode any contestant in Davao who got the yellow ticket for Manila.

Tsk…. And next week, it’ll be the same story; auditions in TWO cities crammed into AN HOUR’s show!

To borrow from Simon Cowell: The contestants shown in the first episode were all FORGETTABLE!

At 7:00 PM sharp I watched the Pilot Episode of Pinoy Idol! Excited to see what’s going to happen? who’s going to shine? To my disappointment I did not see them show the better singers that got the Golden ticket. I was hoping that they would show sopranos, alto belters, olive oil voices . I wish they showcased at least a line or two from the once that made it like PdA. Well, I guess in the editing department GMA did not do great. The show was so-so and I hope next week it will be better. We want to see good singers also!

My mother and I totally agree with you guys. There were so few successful auditions shown. Back to the drawing board - or at least the editing board - for this show.

GMA7 can’t afford to extend it into 2 hours, the next show is Bitoy’s and it’s one of the highest rating shows from the network. But yeah, they should show more stories, more people, it will attract more viewers.

Btw, we have the videos posted in our site. Here is the link: http://idolflux.com

thanks pinoyidolblog!

I feel the same way too. The people who auditioned were normal. They could have extend the show’s airtime.

I find it that the 1st episode is great, the editing may not be coll, but overall, it’s amazing. Especially the funny ones who auditioned in Pinoy Idol. Go Pinoy Idol

yeah…i have the same impression with the rest of you guys…though Raymond really was very good in doing his job, the editing is realy crammed and it failed to showcase the talents of the idol hopefuls who got the golden ticket..it kept me interested though and managed to keep my interest up to the end but afterwards i felt “bitin”…the teaser before the auditions in cdo and davao was good though…especially that hopeful who gave a message for wyngard..i hope i got it right, it goes like this;”wyngard i will show you that i will make it in other country, if not in the Philippines..” clap!clap!clap! nice one…more comments from the judges please…and more on the spot scenes from the audition venue…the drama is real there, other than the other videos presented on the first episode that showed the other side of some hopefuls….Kudos Pinoy Idol!

The editing was terrible. They would show snippets then cut it and divert to other contestants. You would lose focus if you tuned in late. I hope they do something about it. The judges were a bit stiff pero okay lang, first episode naman eh.

I came home from work early just to watch the pilot episode. I got kinda disappointed with the video editing, too much narration, it would have been alot better if they didn’t cut much of it. I felt like I didn’t see any real singing at all. Anyway, too much for a first episode. I’m still looking forward to the Cebu auditions, there are sure lots of talent where I come from. =)

looking for 1st pinoy idol? I think Philippines had the 1st pinoy idol in Mau. I think this contest should think of recognizing that. It doesn’t matter if another tv station owns the rights to the show now. INeither does it matter if the show has a different name. We all know the history of the show. Give us a break and for once, stop acting like kids bragging about rights and which stars they have. Give it a try, you might like it.

The pilot episode was good considering they had less than an hour to showcase this. Raymond did an outstanding job and always has in his other shows. They will probably showcase the others that made it once the Manila rounds begins. They have more air time for that section of the show. Looking forward to that.

i was anxiously waiting for this for months and i was really diappointed with what i watched.

the editing was really horrible…
i didnt like the part where the judges verdicts were cut in suspense. that didn’t help and didn’t brought any element of surprise.

all of the contestants are forgettable, literally, because i can’t remember anyone of them

philippine idol is even better (wth???)

anyways, i have seen the primer of pda and it was really good. miles better…

It was disappointing. Story was lame and editing needs lot of improvement. Raymond should learn how to show more emotions in his hosting - it’s too monotonous to me.

Paolo Bediones should’ve been a better choice.

And why were there personal footages already when it supposed to show only people who are auditioning on the actual venues?

;”wyngard i will show you that i will make it in other country, if not in the Philippines..” quoted from zzz

the one who said that line, he’s in manila auditions eh not in davao… mixed up ang editing…

Masyadong ginawang madrama ang approach sa pinoyidol, too much focus on the background stories per character, thus not much focus on who made it and who didn’t. i watch the audition episodes to be entertained, if i wanted an approach where the background of the characters get exploited ay manonood nalang ako ng pinoy dream academy. i hope they do better. mas maganda pa ung sa channel 5 na pilots kung ganyan din lang.
