Hi. I am Noemi Lardizabal-Dado who also blogs at aboutmyrecovery.com. I was an avid fan of Philippine Idol that I attended all the live performances of the 12 finalists. Philippine Idol is now gone. GMA-7 acquired the Fremantle franchise of the Idol contest which they call Pinoy Idol. That’s why I created pinoyidolblog.com to differentiate the two Idol franchise.

GMA-7 plans to execute the Pinoy Idol their own unique way. GMA Network’s Senior Vice President for Entertainment Wilma Galvante said that GMA will not “copy” the Freemantle franchise completely. Plans are to make adjustments to Pinoy Idol to entertain local Filipino viewers. GMA likewise announced that the first season called Philippine Idol aired over ABC5 will not be recognized including first Philippine Idol Mau Marcelo. GMA in its promotional video promoted Pinoy Idol as “the first Idol competition in the Philippines” .

Hopefully, I can gain access to the show of the First Pinoy Idol so I can blog about it.
