Philippine Idol on GMA-7
Thursday, September 6th, 2007“Philippine Idol” Season 2 might be seen on GMA-7 . According to the the news, GMA 7 is negotiating with Freemantle to get the franchise of the Philippine Idol. It will be known this week if GMA 7 will indeed be granted the franchise.
“We’ve heard that,” confirmed Perci Intalan, ABC 5 head of creative and entertainment production. “But last week, we were still discussing with FremantleMedia (“Idol” franchise holder) … about producing not only ‘Philippine Idol,’ but also ‘Asian Idol.’”
ABC-5 will still get the first chance to refuse the offer of course.
Although talks are still being finalized, most likely the Philippine Idol will be launched next year.
